Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation invites applications for a hands-on senior CNC programming lead in Havant, UK. You will manage the machining team and deliver offline programs for 5-axis mills/turn lathes on time.

You will plan and delegate work, create tooling sheets, drive improvements, and mentor junior engineers. Required: Edgecam, Mastercam, Vericut, Mazatrol and CAD skills; SAP and Microsoft Office beneficial.

Qualifications

• Ten years minimum engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Ten years minimum CNC programming knowledge.
• CI experience (Six Sigma) preferred.

Reporting to the department Manager, this is a hands-on senior position where you will be responsible for the team providing CNC programs on time in line with the business schedule.

Plan and delegate the work to the team ensuring priorities are understood.

Responsible for creating offline CNC code primarily for the machining of parts on 5 AxisCNC vertical mill/turn lathes(MazakIntegrexe-1600V, e1060V8&i500)and other CNC machines when required.

Drive improvements and reduce program creation times.

Maintain and develop software.

Demonstrate strong offline programming skills.

Create accurate tooling and set up sheets.

Experience of working with super alloys - Inconel 625, Duplex, CNC, NAB

Communicate and liaise with machinist team in a confident and understanding manner.

Prepared to be flexible with working hours to suit the business needs.

Work to tight deadlines to achieve on time delivery targets.

Possess strong problem-solving skills.

Supervise and mentor junior members of the team

Ideally Apprentice servedwith machinist experience background

Proficient using Edgecam, Mastercam or similar.

Mazatrol - matrixcam2 & DX Soft Controlprogramming

Expert CAD skills. Solid Edge or similar system.

Vericut - anti-collision software experience

Familiar withmill turntechniques.

Computer Literate (Microsoft)

• SAP experience an advantage

Education

• HNC/HNDdesired but relevant experience will also be considered.

Experience

• 10 years(min) Engineeringexperience within the manufacturing industry.
• 10 years (min) CNC Programming knowledge
• CI experience (6 Sigma principles
