Job summary

New England Seafood International is hiring an Office Cleaner to join the Hygiene Team. The role supports maintaining high hygiene standards across the site in Chessington, working hours 22:00–07:00. You will learn cleaning schedules, PPE handling and safe working practices while contributing to customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has basic English literacy, a can-do attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work in a chilled environment on a night shift. FMCG experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Hygiene Team in delivering high hygiene standards.
• Clean and sanitise all equipment per cleaning schedules.
• Clean facilities to meet site and customer standards.
• Undertake general cleaning in designated areas.
• Keep office environments clean and tidy.
• Ensure PPE is available.
• Sweep/hoover and mop floors; clean kitchens and canteens.
• Clean and sanitise toilets and wash areas.
• Manage waste and maintain clean corridors and receptions.

Title: Office Cleaner

Reports to: Hygiene Manager

Location: Chessington, Surrey KT9 1TW

Salary: Starting at £29,868.80 per annum

Hours: 22:00 - 07:00

Accountabilities – what will I learn and be trained in

To support the Hygiene Team in delivering highest level of hygiene standards, and work as a team to ensure our site and customers hygiene standards are met at all times.

• To undertake and complete tasks as advised by Hygiene Supervisor
• To clean and sanitise all equipment in accordance with the cleaning schedules
• To clean equipment and facilities to the standards as set out by site and customers standards
• Undertake general cleaning duties in designated areas
• Keep office environments clean and tidy to a high standard
• Make sure factory PPE is always available
• To sweep/hoover and mop the floors
• Clean the kitchen and canteen areas as required
• Toilets will need to be cleaned and sanitised, wash basins, taps and surrounds to be cleaned and buffed.
• Offices carpets hoovered, rubbish bins emptied on nightly basis including receptions, stairs etc.
• To ensure all equipment is used as specified and within the procedures outlined in the hygiene cleaning cards/procedures
• To ensure all chemicals are always used as specified and within the procedures to deliver customer satisfaction and reduce wastage
• To work safely yourself, and not affecting others, ensuring that all requirements as laid down within the company’s Health & Safety policy are implemented, and that safe working practices are always adhered to.
• To be open for new changes, improvements and challenges, to drive business standards and hygiene performance upwards
• To perform any other tasks that may be reasonably expected

What experiences, knowledge and capabilities do I need to demonstrate?

• We require all applicants to have a basic understanding of English Literacy and Numeracy
• A can-do attitude is a must
• Self-motivated and flexible
• Will be able to follow the required quality and hygiene standards
• Comfortable working in a chilled environment (uniform provided), and standing for long periods of time
