Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting an ODP/Anaesthetic Nurse for the One Day Unit Theatres at Leeds Dental Institute. You will provide perioperative care for day-case oral surgery under GA/IV sedation, across both adult and paediatric patients, within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
The role offers development opportunities, training and ongoing support, with shifts on a 37.5 hour week over 4 days (Mon–Fri), typically 10-hour shifts including a long day.
Our unit is a dedicated day surgery service within the Dental Institute, comprising of a ward area for pre and post operative care, Anaesthetic room, theatre, recovery room and pre-assessment office We are a small but welcoming and supportive multidisciplinary team comprising of ODPs, Registered Nurses, Dental Nurses, Support workers and administrative colleagues. We work closely with other departments across the LDI and the wider LGI theatre teams. Every day brings variety with different surgical lists and patient groups. We also have dedicated paediatric operating lists twice a week, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your confidence and experience caring for children as well as adults. We are committed to supporting our staff to develop both personally and professionally and training and ongoing support will be provided. There are also opportunities to learn new skills, undertake projects and take on additional responsibilities such as staff champion and key trainer roles

What you will bring to the role
As a perioperative Practitioner the successful candidate will work within an environment that provides care for pre, peri and post operative care for both adults and paediatrics
They will provide and be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development , implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for all patients ensuring accurate written and electronic records are kept
They will be able to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision
They will be able to assist with teaching and supervision of learners and other staff from all disciplines
