Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust invites applications for an Oculoplastics Service Clinical Fellow post across its hospitals, based at Stoke Mandeville and other sites. The appointment is permanent and starts 3 February 2027, with flexible working options discussed.

The successful candidate will contribute to the Oculoplastics service, gain experience in patient assessment, outpatient decision-making, and cataract/Oculoplastic surgery, and may undertake occasional operating lists and audits.

Qualifications

• Must hold GMC Registration with a licence to practise in the UK.
• MRCOphth or FRCOphth Part 1 or equivalent.
• Experience in training grades in ophthalmology.
• Experience as SpR or equivalent role in Ophthalmology.
• Experience of cataract surgery and Oculoplastic clinic and theatre attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide logbook evidence of surgical experience and audit outcomes.
• Develop clinical and surgical skills in Oculoplastics.
• Undertake cataract operating lists and support Acute Eye Casualty Clinic as needed.
• Supervise junior trainees as appropriate.
