ALS Recruiting Ltd is partnering with a leading global freight forwarder in Bradford to hire an Ocean Imports Operator responsible for managing high-volume deep-sea ocean import consignments from origin booking through UK port arrival and final delivery.

The role offers autonomy and stable career growth within a global freight network, with exposure to Incoterms and UK import procedures, plus a competitive salary up to £38,000 plus benefits; DOE.

Qualifications

• Proven background in ocean import freight forwarding operations.
• Solid understanding of UK import procedures and Incoterms.
• Hands-on experience with freight platforms like CargoWise One or MultiFreight.

Responsibilities

• Own ocean import files (FCL & LCL) across international trade lanes from origin booking to UK port arrival and final delivery.
• Prepare and process UK import customs entries, Bills of Lading, and shipping documents in compliance with UK import regulations.
• Coordinate with ocean carriers, shipping lines, overseas freight agents and domestic hauliers to secure competitive ocean freight rates and optimize transit times.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for key client accounts, providing milestone updates and resolving bottlenecks.
• Oversee ocean import job costing, audit supplier charges, and ensure accurate client billing to protect margins.
