Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a senior clinical role within rehabilitation. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, applying advanced OT skills to complex cases, and leading client-centred assessments and home adaptation planning.

You will hold HCPC registration, a OT degree, and have post-graduate training, with experience supervising staff and students.

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registered with active CPD portfolio.
  • Evidence of post graduate training relevant to occupational therapy practice.

Education /Qualification
Essential criteria
  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current AHP with UK HCPC registration
  • Evidence of active CPD portfolio
  • Relevant Post graduate training
Desirable criteria
  • Membership of the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT)
  • Training in appraisal/supervision
  • Post graduate qualification in specialist area at a masters or equivalent level in specialist field
Experience
Essential criteria
  • Appropriate clinical experience post registration (including experience of working in rehabilitation at Senior level)
  • Experience as an OT in at least two of the following areas: People with conditions affecting physical function, cognition, againg
  • Being involved with assessment and implementation of minor and major adaptations to a persons home on the grounds of disability
  • General rehabilitation and falls management
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of supervising staff and / or students
  • NHS experience
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of research and clinical audit
  • Experience of working with social services
  • Experience in setting up and running activity based group programme
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • Advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of people with complex multi-pathologies
  • Ability to apply core Occupational Therapy skills across a range of clinical conditions within a client centred, goal setting approach
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritise and demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning
  • Advanced communication and report writing skills, in both verbal and written format
  • Skills in supervision and appraisal of assistants, junior therapists & students
  • Presentation skills appropriate for teaching of junior staff, students & peers within an in-service training setting
  • Computer literacy - Working knowledge of MS Office applications Personal and professional responsibility
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of complex medical conditions and applicable rehabilitation
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant NICE and RCOT clinical guidelines
  • Knowledge of outcome measures and evidence-based practice associated with people with physical disabilities
  • Knowledge of recent national policies and legislation relating to health and social care provision
Other
Essential criteria
  • Able to provide evidence of where you have demonstrated the Trust's Values and Behaviours
  • Able to work both independently, and with direct and indirect supervision.
  • Able to meet the required IT Skills for the post
  • Car Driver unless covered by Equality Act 2010
  • Willingness to work flexibly at a variety of locations across the division/local area
  • Able to be organized, prioritise and manage own time.
  • Able to accept advice and feedback and to act upon this
