De Montfort University is seeking 2 Academic Leaders to provide the strategic, curriculum and professional leadership required to develop and establish a new Occupational Therapy programme within the School of Allied Health Sciences.

Working with colleagues, students, lived experience, employers and partners, you will shape an innovative curriculum that prepares graduates to thrive in health and social care.

Qualifications

• Experience of programme leadership or practice-based learning within higher education in the UK.
• Experience of inclusive curriculum design and programme development aligned with contemporary occupational therapy practice and workforce needs.
• An active commitment to widening participation, inclusion and social justice.
• Experience of driving student recruitment, retention and success to establish a thriving programme community.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to develop effective partnerships across health, social care and community settings.
• Enthusiasm for innovation and a desire to shape the future of occupational therapy and Allied Health Professions education.

Responsibilities

• Provide the strategic, curriculum and professional leadership required to successfully develop and establish the programme within the School of Allied Health Sciences.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, students, people with lived experience, employers, independent practitioners and practice partners to shape an innovative curriculum.
• Build the programme's identity and reputation, ensuring it embodies inclusivity, equity and social impact.
• Develop partnerships that create learning opportunities and position the university as a recognised contributor to occupational therapy education nationally and regionally.
• Contribute to wider strategic ambitions of the School, Faculty and University through leadership, scholarship, research, enterprise and external engagement.
