Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Assistive Technology Service at the SMART Centre, Astley Ainslie Hospital, Edinburgh. You will manage a delegated patient caseload and work independently within the Disabled Living Centre to assess equipment needs for daily living.

This part-time post supports qualified AHP staff and contributes to ongoing transformational changes within the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership; PVG clearance is required

Qualifications

• PVG Scheme membership/record required.
• Ability to work independently within the Disabled Living Centre (DLC).

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s needs in relation to equipment for daily living.
• Provide advice and information in person or on the telephone about equipment and services.
• Develop the DLC service and participate in transformational changes within the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership.
