Job summary

Inspire Neurocare, Worcester-based care provider, is recruiting an Occupational Therapist to join our new care home. You will deliver Occupational Therapy to residents in a varied role where no two days are the same.

HCPC registered with at least two years’ experience, preferably in a neuro setting, is required. We offer a competitive salary (£42,353 per annum), 40 hours per week, benefits, pension, development opportunities and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
• Two years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience in a neuro environment preferred.
• Commitment to provide high-quality patient care.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexible to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Occupational Therapy services to all residents and clients in liaison with the Therapy Lead.
• Provide leadership in OT practices in line with professional codes of conduct.
• Monitor and assess residents’ physical and psychological needs.
• Maintain concise records and generate reports for case reviews.
• Assess daily living skills to determine functional level and needs.
• Liaise with external organisations for equipment provision and maintain OT equipment.
• Promote social activities and liaise with relatives with empathy and information.

What you'll be doing:

• In liaison with the Therapy Lead, be responsible for the delivery of Occupational Therapy services to all Residents and clients.
• provide leadership in all aspects of Occupational Therapy in accordance with the Codes of Practice of the College of Occupational Therapy.
• provide ongoing monitoring, support and assessment of residents’ physical and psychological needs.
• maintain concise records and provide reports as necessary for each resident’s case review.
• undertake assessments of daily living skills to identify level of functional ability, risks and level of support needed.
• To liaise with appropriate outside organisations for equipment provision e.g. wheelchair services and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all Occupational Therapy equipment.
• Promote personal and social skills and leisure activities for all residents and liaise with relatives and carers with empathy giving information, support and advice whenever and as often as required.
