Active Neuro at Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Ashford, England, is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a seven-day model of care on a fixed-term, 12-month contract. Qualifications

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist and current registered status.
  • Experience in neurorehabilitation or neurological settings.
  • Experience in private healthcare, independent rehabilitation services, or medico-legal work is advantageous.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and the ability to plan and adapt complex therapy programmes.
  • Experience mentoring, supervising, or supporting junior staff or students.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport with clients and families.

  • Develop and implement person-centred therapy plans to recover functional independence and daily living skills.

The Role:

As part of our transition to Active Neuro, the therapy service is evolving into a seven-day model of care to better support the rehabilitation needs of our clients. As a result, occasional pre-arranged weekend working will be required. You will also be expected to work Bank Holidays as required by the service, with enhanced pay provided in line with company policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions for individuals with neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries, demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning
  • Develop and implement person-centred therapy plans that support recovery of functional independence, daily living skills, and meaningful activities
  • Use creativity and innovation to deliver engaging therapy programmes tailored to each patient’s interests, goals, and needs
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic rehabilitation and contribute to team decision-making
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff and students, sharing expertise and promoting best practice across the team
  • Support and educate patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation journey, fostering engagement and confidence in the therapy process
  • Contribute to goal setting, discharge planning, and outcome measurement, ensuring therapy is evidence-based and outcome-focused
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and human rights of all service users are upheld, maintaining professional standards and compliance with regulatory requirements
About you:

For this role, we’re looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who can bring the following: HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist, Previous experience working within a neurorehabilitation or neurological setting, Experience working in private healthcare, independent rehabilitation services, or with medico-legal clients would be advantageous, Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills, with the ability to plan and adapt complex therapy programmes, Experience in mentoring, supervising, or supporting junior staff or students, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families, A team-oriented mindset and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, A passion for delivering person-centred rehabilitation and meaningful outcomes
