Job summary

Kisimul Group invites an Occupational Therapist to join a new specialist school for ages 8–16 in Haverhill. You will help pupils develop skills for education, daily life, and personal activities within a therapeutic, person-centred framework.

This role emphasises collaborative work with education and care colleagues in a multidisciplinary team. Postgraduate sensory integration training is desirable; HCPC registration is required.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• RCOT membership is desirable.
• Knowledge of autistic individuals and learning disabilities.
• Commitment to person-centred, evidence-based practice.
• Postgraduate sensory integration training is desirable; willing to undertake.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective, person-centred OT to young people aged 8–16.
• Build positive therapeutic relationships with pupils.
• Assess and respond to sensory, functional and emotional needs.
• Support independence, life skills and participation in everyday activities.
• Collaborate with education, care and therapy colleagues in a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to therapeutically informed practice throughout the school environment.
• Use evidence-based approaches to inform clinical decisions and interventions.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to engagement and achieve meaningful educational outcomes.
