Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Special Educational Needs Occupational Therapist in London (Hammersmith and Fulham) on a 3-month contract. You will deliver OT services to children and young people with SEND, work on statutory EHCP assessments, and manage a diverse caseload across schools and resource bases.

The role offers hybrid working with 3–4 days in office, and opportunities to contribute to EHCP reviews while developing multidisciplinary collaboration within a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with SEND experience.
  • Experience developing EHCPs or working in educational settings.
  • Ability to work in hybrid/office borough environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Occupational Therapy services to children and young people with SEND.
  • Complete statutory Occupational Therapy assessments for EHCPs.
  • Manage a caseload of children, young people and educational settings.
  • Undertake standardised and non-standardised assessments.
  • Contribute to EHCP annual reviews and statutory assessment processes.
  • Deliver direct and indirect Occupational Therapy interventions.
  • Design and deliver individual and group therapy programmes.
  • Assess for and recommend specialist equipment for educational settings.
  • Complete moving and handling assessments in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Attend EHCP reviews, Child in Need meetings, and multi-agency reviews.
  • Provide training and advice to school staff, parents and carers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist to make a significant impact in the lives of children and young people aged 4-25 with Special Educational Needs. Based in the vibrant area of Hammersmith and Fulham, this full-time role is crafted for those with a knack for creativity in therapy, combined with a commitment to education and development. You will take responsibility for named schools, colleges, and resource bases in a hybrid working model for three to four days in the office or borough. Your expertise will guide the development of Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP) in this focused and dynamic position.

What you will do:

  • - Complete complex moving and handling assessments in collaboration with Physiotherapy and Social Care colleagues.
  • - Attend and contribute to EHCP reviews, Child in Need meetings, and multi-agency reviews.
  • - Provide training and advice to school staff, parents, and carers.
  • - Participate in mediation and SEND tribunal processes where required.
  • - Monitor outcomes and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
  • - Maintain accurate electronic records and reports.
  • - Support transition planning for pupils with Occupational Therapy needs.
