Occupational Therapist - Twickenham, Richmond upon Thames

Full Time Position (Term Time Only) | ASAP Start

Location: Twickenham, Richmond upon Thames

Salary: Up to Band 6 (NHS Scale), dependent on experience

We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and adaptable Occupational Therapist to join a well-regarded SEN Trust across two sites in Richmond upon Thames, including a brand new site that is growing from primary through to post-16 provision over the next five years. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of something genuinely special, with the chance to help shape provision from the ground up.

This is a rewarding position for an OT who wants variety, real impact and the opportunity to work across an established secondary setting alongside an exciting, growing new site, with a caseload that's meaningful and a contribution that makes a genuine difference every day.

About the Role:

Working across both sites, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy support to pupils with a range of physical, sensory and developmental needs, adapting your approach across two very different site environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging sensory and motor skills sessions across both sites
  • Carry out detailed assessments of pupils' sensory, physical and functional needs
  • Write clear, accurate, and pupil-centred reports to inform EHCP reviews, progress tracking and wider MDT planning
  • Deliver specialist 1:1 interventions where appropriate, tailored to individual pupil profiles and targets
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, teaching assistants and external professionals
  • Provide guidance and training to school staff to embed sensory and motor strategies across the curriculum
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with professional and school standards
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school-specific policies at all times
About You:
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration (essential)
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEND, including complex physical and sensory needs
  • Confident in delivering both group/whole-class sessions and specialist 1:1 interventions
  • Strong assessment and report writing skills
  • Experience working within an educational or SEN setting (desirable)
  • Collaborative, patient and pupil-focused approach
  • Comfortable working flexibly across two sites
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all pupils
Benefits
  • Dedicated consultant who will support you every step of the way
  • The opportunity to join a growing, forward-thinking SEN Trust spanning an established secondary site and a brand new site set to expand from primary to post-16
  • Competitive pay up to Band 6 (NHS Scale), dependent on experience
  • Contracts to suit you! We specialise in permanent, long-term, short-term and day-to-day roles
  • Refer a friend scheme which can earn £100-£250 per person
  • Access to free CPD and training opportunities

Placements are subject, to appropriate Child Protection screening, including checks with former employers and the Disclosure and Barring Checks
