Job summary

SJB Medical is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join a modern care and rehabilitation setting in Ware, Hertfordshire. You will work in a dedicated 13-bed Intermediate Care Unit, supporting patients discharged from hospital or referred for further rehabilitation.

You will collaborate with a Physiotherapist and wider care teams to aid residents in regaining independence and ensuring safe discharges. A rewarding role with opportunities for development and weekend enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments and develop rehabilitation plans.
• Deliver person-centred rehabilitation interventions to residents.
• Provide professional advice and guidance to residents, families and MDT members.
• Participate in MDT meetings and discharge planning.
• Undertake home access visits to assess environments and recommend equipment/ adaptations.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
• Deliver training on equipment use and rehabilitation techniques.
• Promote independence, wellbeing and quality of life.

Salary: £39,000 - £48,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time or Part-time (Minimum 24 hours per week)

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our clients multidisciplinary team within a modern care and rehabilitation setting in Ware, Hertfordshire.

This is a unique opportunity to work primarily within a dedicated 13-bed Intermediate Care Unit, supporting individuals who have been discharged from hospital or referred from the community for further rehabilitation. You will play a vital role in helping people regain confidence, maximise independence, and achieve safe and successful discharges.

As the dedicated Occupational Therapist, you will work closely alongside a Physiotherapist and wider nursing and care teams, making a genuine impact on residents' recovery journeys.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments and develop rehabilitation plans.
• Deliver person-centred rehabilitation interventions to residents.
• Provide professional advice and guidance to residents, families, carers, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning.
• Undertake home access visits where required to assess environments and recommend equipment or adaptations.

About You

You will be a dedicated Occupational Therapist who is passionate about supporting older adults through rehabilitation and recovery.

Essential Requirements

• BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Strong clinical assessment and rehabilitation skills.
