Job summary

sjb medical is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to lead its Occupational Therapy provision across multiple sites. The role combines clinical leadership with service delivery to learners and adults with complex disabilities.

You will provide line management to therapists and staff, ensure high-quality assessment and intervention, and develop partnerships with education, residential, care, and external agencies.

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
• Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent).
• Experience leading OT teams and services.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and governance.
• Experience with SEND/EHCP processes.

Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon - Fri) across 52 weeks.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate

Occupational Therapy Manager to lead our Occupational Therapy provision across sites. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Occupational Therapist who combines strong clinical expertise with inspirational leadership skills and a commitment to empowering young people and adults with complex disabilities to reach their full potential.

As Occupational Therapy Manager, you will provide professional and operational leadership to a talented OT team, ensuring high-quality, person-centred, evidence-informed support that enables learners and residents to participate fully in education, daily living, community life and preparation for adulthood.

About the Role

Working closely with the Head of Therapy and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will:

• Lead and manage Occupational Therapy services across multiple sites.
• Provide line management, supervision and professional support to Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants and delegated OT staff.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective OT assessment and intervention.
• Oversee caseload management, workforce planning and service delivery.
• Drive quality assurance, clinical governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support learners and residents with independence, participation, sensory regulation, posture and positioning, equipment needs, environmental access and transition planning.
• Build strong partnerships with families, education, residential, care, nursing and external agencies.
• Champion innovation and evidence-based practice within Occupational Therapy services.

About You

You will be a qualified and HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with significant post-qualification experience and a proven ability to support and develop others.

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent professional qualification).
• Current HCPC registration.
• Significant Occupational Therapy experience, ideally working with individuals with complex needs.
• Experience supervising, leading or managing therapists, assistants or students.
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, risk management and professional standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.Experience within specialist education, residential care or disability services.
• Knowledge of SEND, EHCP processes and preparation for adulthood pathways.
• Additional training in areas such as sensory integration, assistive technology, posture and positioning, moving and handling, or specialist equipment.
