Job summary

NHS Professionals Limited is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. You will manage your own patient caseload, carry out assessments, plan and deliver interventions, and evaluate outcomes within a clinical team.

You will hold HCPC registration, a degree or diploma in OT, and have NHS OT experience with Medicine and Trauma & Orthopaedics. This on-site role offers professional development and opportunities within the department.

Qualifications

• Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Previous NHS Occupational Therapy experience.
• Experience in Medicine and Trauma & Orthopaedics (T&O).
• Commitment to continuing professional development; access to a car desirable for community work.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective communication strategies when supporting patients, carers and colleagues where language or privacy barriers exist.
• Carry out safe manual handling of patients and equipment following training and policies to minimize risk.
• Perform practical therapeutic techniques such as patient transfers, passive joint movements and splint fabrication within competence.
• Oversee the appropriate use and availability of Occupational Therapy equipment, and provide instruction and supervision to colleagues.
• Contribute to staff and student development through supervision, tutorials and departmental learning opportunities.
• Support service delivery through discharge planning, quality assurance activities, data collection, audits and CPD.
