Job summary

Scottish Borders Council is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team in delivering person-centred care. You will assess adults with diverse physical, sensory, cognitive, and mental health needs and develop outcome-focused plans to maximise independence and wellbeing.

The role involves working with service users, carers, health professionals, housing colleagues and partner agencies, maintaining records and upholding professional standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
• Commitment to promoting independence, choice and wellbeing.
• Strong assessment, problem-solving and risk-management abilities.
• Able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent report-writing and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of adults with physical, sensory, cognitive, and mental health conditions.
• Develop and implement outcome-focused care and support plans.
• Arrange equipment, adaptations, and specialist interventions.
• Collaborate with service users, carers, health professionals, housing colleagues and partner agencies.
• Contribute to prevention and early intervention initiatives to support independence.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold professional standards.
