Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic Children's Disability Team in Leeds, West Yorkshire. This locum, full-time role offers 37 hours per week with a hybrid work model, blending home and office-based duties in Leeds (LS7).

You will assess and support children with diverse disabilities, coordinate equipment and adaptations, and develop plans to maximise independence for children and families.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Experience working with children and families, including assessments and adaptations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team-working and organisational abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and DBS check.
• Experience in a Children's Disability Team and paediatric complex cases.
• Hybrid working experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex Children's Occupational Therapy caseload with care and expertise.
• Assess children with a wide spectrum of disabilities within their home environments.
• Execute assessments for children with physical and behavioural needs and undertake complex moving and handling assessments.
• Recommend and arrange for specialist equipment and assess for major adaptations.
• Develop and implement person-centred intervention plans to maximise children's independence.
• Liaise effectively with children, families, carers, and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure cohesive care.
• Maintain precise records and reports that reflect the progress and needs of each child.
• Support children and families to maximise independence and participation in everyday activities.

Requirements:

• Team-working aptitude combined with organisational prowess.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and a clean DBS required.
• Experience within a Children's Disability Team and managing complex paediatric cases.
• Background in mentoring or developing others and familiarity with hybrid working arrangements.
