A specialist health facility in Sheffield is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team focused on treating patients with eating disorders. The role involves developing and delivering occupational therapy programmes, managing a caseload, and collaborating with various healthcare professionals. Applicants must possess a degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration, with experience in mental health settings preferred. The facility promotes person-focused care and offers a supportive work environment.
This is an exciting andunique opportunity to work as member of a cohesive and skilledmultidisciplinary team in the delivery of person focused care and treatment foradults and young people who are engaged in inpatient treatment for an eatingdisorder.
The successful candidate will provide effective programmes of Occupational Therapy for a specific patient group and contribute to the overall service development.
The post holder will work in a designated area (Adolescent and Adult unit including the transition service) within the specialist eating disorder service. They will provide a variety of individual and group Occupational Therapy interventions appropriate to the patient population and in line with best practice.

As an independent hospital, our 18 inpatient beds, (Adult and Adolescent), are commissioned by NHS England. As such we work closely with the NHS to provide responsive and highly specialised, treatment determined by need and based on clinical expertise and best practice.

Working Practice
Provide a patient needs led occupationaltherapy programme using a range of assessments, treatment approaches andevaluation based on best available evidence.
Be actively involved in theclinical risk assessment and development of risk management plans forpatients and adhere to these.
Effectively manage a nominatedcaseload as named Occupational Therapist/key worker.
Adhere to local OT QualityStandards and COT Professional Standards for Occupational Therapy.
Successfully time manage andprioritise areas of responsibility.
To support and guide non-registeredstaff and participate in the education and supervision of students.
Liaise effectively and be anactive member of the relevant multidisciplinary teams, providing clinicalreports as necessary and actively contribute to the Care Programme Approachprocess.
Attend and contribute to relevantmeetings as required.
Communicate effectively withthe MDT.
Be involved and assistin Clinical Governance and quality assurance activities as required.
Co-work withOccupational Therapy staff and members of other professions.
Keep timely, accurate and appropriaterecords including contemporaneous patient records in accordance with informationgovernance framework and policies.
Undertake administrative tasksas required by the service.
Lead in assigned specific clinicalactivities as determined by the line manager.
Where appropriate to work collaborativelywith parents/carers.
Education and Development
Actively participate in relevant courses, workshops andconferences.
Participate in the hospitals Performance Appraisaland Development process and contribute to that that of non-registered staff.
Continuallyupdate and develop skills and utilise CPD opportunities and maintainportfolio in line with HCPC standards.
Complete all essential training.
Engage in regular clinical and managerial supervision.
To contribute in the supervision of non-registered staffand students as appropriate.

Ensure the maintenance of a safe environment.
Contribute to the General Workplace Risk Assessmentprocess and adhere to specific activity risk management plans.
Work within Health and Safety legislation, hospital policiesand procedures.

Take personal responsibility for maintaining up to dateknowledge and adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
