Active Care Group’s Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre in Wishaw is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a senior, multidisciplinary team delivering inpatient neurorehabilitation for adults with brain injury or neurological conditions.

You will provide specialist assessments, develop clear rehabilitation plans, monitor progress, manage a complex caseload, and contribute to training and supervision within the MDT.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required to practice as an occupational therapist.
• Experience in neurorehabilitation is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Ability to motivate patients and sustain engagement over time.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment and evidence-based treatment for acquired brain injury.
• Develop rehabilitation plans with clear clinical reasoning and goals.
• Deliver and monitor rehabilitation to promote independence and function.
• Manage a complex caseload with timely record keeping and admin.
• Collaborate with families, carers and MDT; supervise therapy assistants and students.

Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing environment where every individual we support feels empowered to live their best life possible.At our Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre our highly skilled multidisciplinary team, comprising of nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, neuropsychology, speech and language therapy, psychiatry and led by consultant in rehabilitation medicine. The team work closely together to deliver high-quality, patient-centred, goal focused interventions for individuals with complex acquired brain injuries requiring specialist inpatient rehabilitation. This involves addressing a wide range of needs including physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties through cognitive rehabilitation, functional retraining and community reintegration.In addition, ourNeurological Care Centre offers slow-stream rehabilitation, for those needing additional time to practise new skills before transitioning back home or into the community. Senior clinicians offer in reach for review of individuals with complex neurodisabilities, with opportunity for the person in this role to assist.We also provide care a complex disability service to support individuals with challenging conditions that make home care difficult.Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre is part of the wider Active Care Group Neuro Network (consisting of 25+ sites nationally) and we focus on the use of clinical expertise, innovation and technology to meet patient’s expectations of rehabilitation goals.If you are passionate about making a difference to the lives of individuals with neurological conditions, and are dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred care, we invite you to join our compassionate team at Murdostoun.What you'll be working:This role is 22.5 hours per week.What you'll be doing:Provide specialist assessment and evidence-based, high-quality treatment of acquired brain injury, using a wide range of approaches to suit the patients’ varying needsDevelop rehabilitation plans with clear clinical reasoning and goal settingDeliver and monitor innovative rehabilitation and care to promote independenceManage and prioritise a complex caseload, ensuring timely completion of related administrative tasks such as record keepingDevelop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, families, carers, and other members of the MDTWork as part of the therapy team, sharing information and supporting colleaguesSupport clinical supervision for therapy assistants and studentsWhat you'll have:HCPC registrationPrevious experience of working in a neurorehabilitation setting would be an advantageKnowledge and skills in assessment proceduresAbility to motivate patients over long periodsSuccessful candidates will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland PVG checkWe also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions.
