Job summary

Active Care Group invites applications for a Lead Occupational Therapist (Band 7 equivalent) at the Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre. You will lead a multidisciplinary OT team, drive innovation in neurorehabilitation, and shape clinical pathways within a 24/7 therapy model to improve outcomes for individuals with ABI/TBI and other complex neurological conditions.

The role requires HCPC registration, substantial neurorehabilitation leadership experience, and a commitment to service

Qualifications

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Significant post‑registration experience in neurorehabilitation or complex care (including ABI/TBI).
  • Demonstrable leadership ability and experience supervising therapy teams.
  • Advanced clinical reasoning and confident decision‑making in complex neurorehabilitation cases.
  • Passion for service development, innovation, and measurable patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and clinical leadership to the Occupational Therapy team.
  • Deliver expert, evidence‑based assessment and intervention for individuals with complex neurological needs.
  • Shape service development, clinical pathways, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support the professional development of the OT team through supervision and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with MDT to ensure a consistent, person‑centred rehabilitation journey.
  • Champion the use of advanced rehabilitation technologies as part of a 24‑hour therapy model.

Every person receives a personalised rehabilitation programme, with our expert multidisciplinary team working together to deliver coordinated, evidence-based care.Alongside specialist physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology, speech and language therapy and nursing, we utilise advanced rehabilitation technologies, including robotic upper limb therapy and EMG biofeedback, to maximise recovery, improve function and help people achieve meaningful, lasting outcomes.The role:As part of our transition to Active Neuro, the therapy service is evolving into a seven-day model of care to better support the rehabilitation needs of our clients. As a result, occasional pre-arranged weekend working will be required.
