Location: Cranleigh, Surrey
Salary: Equivalent to NHS Band 5 or Band 6 - £27,079 - £40,626

Contract: Permanent
Hours: 36.75 hours per week, Term Time Only (salary paid across 12 months) Monday to Friday hours ranging from 8:30am - 5:30pm

Join a Specialist Autism Education and Therapy Team

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a specialist school supporting children and young people aged 4-19 with autism and associated needs. Working within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people while developing your skills in a supportive and rewarding environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for either a Band 5 Occupational Therapist looking to develop their career or a more experienced Band 6 practitioner seeking a rewarding role within a specialist educational setting.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced therapy team, you will provide specialist occupational therapy support to pupils with a range of sensory, motor, perceptual, functional and emotional regulation needs. Therapy is delivered through a combination of one-to-one interventions, small group sessions and integrated classroom support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing, planning and implementing occupational therapy interventions.
  • Delivering individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Embedding therapy programmes within classroom environments.
  • Working closely with teachers, support staff and fellow therapists.
  • Monitoring and evaluating therapy outcomes.
  • Producing reports and contributing to Annual Reviews and EHCP processes.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records.
  • Supporting multidisciplinary working and joint therapy initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Essential
  • Degree qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience supporting individuals with autism.
Desirable
  • 1-2 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Experience working with children, young people or in educational settings.
  • Knowledge of Sensory Integration, postural management, Bobath or related therapeutic approaches.
