Job summary

Thornford Park Hospital in Berkshire is seeking a recently qualified Occupational Therapist to join a supportive team delivering specialist care for women with complex mental health needs. You will gain hands-on experience with supervision from experienced professionals and access ongoing training.

Based at Thornford Park in Thatcham, you will perform OT assessments, plan and review treatment programmes under supervision, and contribute to care pathways.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• UK HCPC registration or current application is required.
• Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups.
• Effective written/verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive OT assessments.
• Under supervision, planning and reviewing OT treatment programmes.
• Under supervision, identifying and actioning referrals both in‑house, including support staff, and to external agencies.
• Supporting the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols at Thornford park.
• Ensuring that contemporaneous, written and electronic records and activity data are maintained following professional and services standards.

Required Qualifications

• A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
• A UK HCPC registration or applied for
• Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups

Location

Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET. You will work at Thornford Park which is a combination of medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation. You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/ complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder. Service users may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements.
