Direct Medics are partnering with a hospice in Newry to recruit a Band 6 Occupational Therapist on a part-time basis for a 1-year maternity cover.

The role involves postural management assessment, seating systems, adaptive equipment, and contributing to patient care in a hospice setting.

Flexible hours are available with both part-time and full-time options; supports with professional registration and training are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist.
• Minimum 3 years post-registration experience as an OT.
• Experience in postural management assessment and seating systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention in a hospice setting.
• Contribute to care planning for patients requiring adaptive equipment.

Job Description

Direct Medics are working in partnership with a Hospice in Newry to find a Band 6 Occupational Therapist on a part time basis for 1 year (Maternity leave cover).

Requirements

• HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
• 3 years post registration experience working as an Occupational Therapist
• Experience in postural management assessment and prescription of specialist seating systems including static and mobile systems
• Experience of assessment for adaptive equipment e.g perching stool, shower chairs
• Experience if possible in the treatment and management of fatigue, anxiety and dyspnoea
• Right to live and work in the UK
