North Manchester Local Care Organisation Community Services provide high quality multi-disciplinary care for the residents of North Manchester. The aim being to provide patient focused evidenced based care, working with patients and their families to achieve their goals to maximise safety and function within their own environments. We work across a variety of settings including patients own homes and a variety of community settings including a purpose built intermediate care unit, community health centres and residential care settings to achieve this.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for band 5, rotational vacancy for an Occupational Therapist. The rotation currently covers 4 community rotations as well as the potential to access 3 Acute rotations at North Manchester General Hospital.
Current Rotations Include
Community Stroke Team - Mon-Sat, 08:00-16:30
Community Neuro rehab Team - Mon-Sat, 08:00-16:30
Crumpsall Vale Intermediate care - Seven day service with shift pattern covering from 07:30 to 15:30 or 11:00 to 19:00
Home Pathway Community Team - Mon- Sun, 08:00 -20:00
Acute Hospital rotation at North Manchester General
Acute Medical - Mon - Fri, 08:00 - 16:00
Surgical - Mon - Fri, 08:00 - 16:00
Trauma orthopaedics - Mon - Fri, 08:00 - 16:00
Both Acute and Community services deliver high quality , This is an excellent opportunity for experienced or newly qualified band 5 Occupational Therapists.
To work as part of a team to deliver evidenced based interventions to maximise patients safety and functional abilities.
To provide assessments to understanding the patients functional performance and prescribe equipment/ make recommendations for support to address limitations within patients home environments including residential care settings.
To prescribe and deliver home rehabilitation programs as appropriate to patients needs
The Community teams consist of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, specialist nurses, psychologists, rehabilitation consultant and support workers (dependent on rotation). This huge bank of knowledge makes the teams the perfect learning environment for anyone with a keen interest in these fields.
The successful candidate will have good communication skills, work well as part of a team and be motivated to deliver high quality patient care. As care is delivered predominantly in patients homes for the community rotations you will need to be able to travel across the area independently to complete home visits.
The successful candidate will benefit from rotating between the three Community services and three Hospital based clinical areas. The services are dedicated to supporting the development of all of their staff and the successful candidate will benefit from the training opportunities that will be available to them.
