Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the ADAPT Service in Bromley West Locality. You will conduct specialist OT assessments and recovery-focused interventions for adults with complex mental health needs, helping them build independence and meaningful routines.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, supervise students and support staff, and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the ADAPT pathway.

Qualifications

  • Qualified occupational therapist with mental health experience.
  • Deliver OT assessments and interventions for individuals and groups.
  • Supervise support workers and OT students on placement.
  • Carry out risk assessments and contribute to risk management plans.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a specialist occupational therapy caseload of service users with complex mental health needs.
  • Deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions through both individual and group work.
  • Support service users to maximise independence, recovery and participation in meaningful activities.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated care.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the ADAPT occupational therapy pathway and borough-wide group programme.
  • Provide specialist occupational therapy advice and consultation to colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Supervise support workers and occupational therapy students on placement.
  • Undertake risk assessments and contribute to risk management plans.
  • Participate in service development, audit, research and quality improvement activities.
  • Promote the role and value of occupational therapy within mental health services.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the ADAPT Service within Bromley West Locality.

The post holder will provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and recovery-focused interventions to service users with complex mental health needs, supporting them to develop independence, meaningful routines and participation in daily, social and vocational activities.

The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to service development, supervision of support staff and students, and the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services.
