This is a great opportunity to join our dedicated QSSHE team at Perenco, where you will be responsible for delivering the Occupational Hygiene program.

The primary focus of this position is the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of workplace health risks across Perenco UK operations in the Southern North Sea. Continual improvement and standardisation of monitoring, auditing, and reporting systems are key components of this role. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with statutory provisions, codes of practice, and industry guidelines, while promoting a positive approach to workplace health risks.

This position is based in our Norwich office, working Monday to Friday, with some travel to offshore and onshore sites as required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

1. Collaborate with medic/HSEA’s and operational teams to review Health Risk Assessments, identifying hazard categories, hazards, health impacts, routes of entry, and required exposure monitoring/health surveillance programs.
2. Deliver occupational hygiene plans related to chemical, physical, biological, psychosocial, and ergonomic factors, including but not limited to:

• Hazardous Substance Management and COSHH risk assessments
• Chemical workplace exposure monitoring (e.g., natural gas condensate – benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene; mercury; lead; chromium III & VI; solvents; cement-based products; welding fumes; toxic gases)
• Asbestos Management and surveys, including material and priority risk assessments
• Noise and vibration management, including surveys and exposure assessments
• Radiation management and assessments
• Thermal hazard assessments
• Potable water management
• Communicable diseases, mould, spores, animal and insect hazards, DSE, fatigue

• Recommend and design control strategies.

• Monitor and evaluate control measures such as LEV, PPE, RPE testing and inspections.

• Deliver occupational hygiene training, including asbestos awareness, dust procedures, and PPE/RPE use and maintenance.

• Conduct assurance processes like inspections and audits across all operational sites, including accommodation, welfare, and food prep areas.

• Maintain calibration systems for occupational hygiene equipment.

Key Requirements Include:

• Occupational Hygienist working towards or with BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene, via:

• Qualifying BOHS accredited degree or
• Combination of BOHS W & P modules

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in occupational hygiene, including measurement techniques.
• Drive and passion to champion workplace health risks and influence management and staff.
• Excellent communication skills for presentations and varied mediums.
• Ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work.
