Job summary

Everson Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Occupational Health Technician to join a nationwide, peripatetic team. The role involves driving a Mobile Medical Unit to client sites to deliver health surveillance services, with a 3-week induction and ongoing mentoring.

You will travel across the UK, work around 37.5 hours per week, and may stay away overnight for up to 3 out of 4 weeks. A valid UK driving licence and the ability to perform baseline measurements are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Healthcare Support Worker, Emergency Care Assistant, Ambulance Technician, Ambulance Assistant, Emergency Care Technician, or Army Medic.
  • Valid manual UK driving licence held for at least 12 months is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and undertake regular overnight stays.
  • 3-week Training and Induction Programme with ongoing mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health surveillance screenings including audiometry and lung function testing.
  • Record medical information in occupational health records accurately.
  • Maintain and ensure all equipment is clean, serviceable and fit for purpose.
  • Support health promotion activities and other tasks as required.
  • Assist the wider occupational health team with accurate data collection for clinical decisions.
  • Provide biometric data to aid clinical decision making.

Job description

I am looking for a Mobile Occupational Health Technician to join an expanding peripatetic team. In this role, you will be required to travel across the UK, driving a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to client sites to deliver high-quality health surveillance services. This is a varied and rewarding role that plays a vital part in ensuring the health and wellbeing of employees across a range of industries.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to expand their skills and experience in a supportive environment, where you’ll be given a 3-week Training and Induction Programme with ongoing mentoring and support from the team.

  • Conduct health surveillance screenings, including audiometry, lung function testing, and baseline measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, and urinalysis.
  • Accurately record all medical information in occupational health records and ensure it is passed to the relevant clinical staff.
  • Maintain and ensure all equipment is clean, serviceable, and fit for purpose.
  • Support health promotion activities and other additional tasks as required.
  • Assist the wider occupational health team by gathering and recording accurate information to support clinical decision-making.
  • Provide biometric data through screening procedures to enable nursing and physician staff to make informed clinical decisions regarding patient management.

You will be a highly skilled and self-motivated professional with exceptional time management skills and outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. A solid understanding of GDPR is essential, along with the capability to effectively deliver health promotion and health surveillance services.

This role is particularly suited to individuals with experience as a Healthcare Support Worker, Emergency Care Assistant, Ambulance Technician, Ambulance Assistant, Emergency Care Technician, or Army Medic. Additionally, it presents a great opportunity for graduates with a degree in Sports Science who are seeking their first role in a healthcare setting, provided you have experience in performing baseline measurements.

A valid manual UK driving licence is a mandatory requirement for this position. Applicants must have held a driving licence for a minimum of 12 months.

*During the initial weeks of employment, the successful candidate will be required to utilise their personal vehicle or a company-provided hire car for transportation purposes. This interim measure will remain in effect until the delivery of a new company van can be facilitated.

Travel & Overnight stays

You must have the facility to park the Mobile Medical Vehicle at or near your home address overnight and be comfortable with the travel required for the role, which will include regular overnight stays. We advise that you can be away from home for around 3 out of 4 weeks of the month, however we will always bring you home on the Friday for the weekend.

To support a positive work-life balance, you will have:

  • Diary Visibility 6 weeks in advance
  • Subsistence for each night you are away from home which will be paid back within a week of being claimed.
  • Access to a Premier Inn account for ease of booking
  • Issue of a fuel card

This is a full-time role where the successful applicant will work 37.5 hours per week, usually between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

Location

We are looking for someone located in or near to Oxford for this role. Regional travel with occasional nationwide travel.

Salary

The salary for this role is between £25,000k and £27,000K per annum depending on experience and qualifications. Offering a competitive hourly rate.
