Job summary

Everson Recruitment seeks an Occupational Health Technician to join a peripatetic team delivering high-quality health surveillance across the UK. You will drive a Mobile Medical Unit to client sites, perform health screenings, and record data for clinical staff.

This full-time role in Cambridge offers 37.5 hours per week, a 25–27k salary depending on experience, and benefits including pension, life assurance, and paid leave. Training and mentoring are provided.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health surveillance screenings including audiometry, spirometry, and baseline measurements (height, weight, BP, urinalysis).
• Record medical information accurately in occupational health records and relay to clinical staff.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness, serviceability and safety compliance.
• Support health promotion activities and other duties as required.
• Assist the wider OH team by gathering and recording data to aid clinical decisions.
• Provide biometric data to support nursing and physician decisions on patient management.
• During initial weeks, may use personal vehicle or company hire car until a new company van is provided.

Job description

I am seeking Occupational Health Technicians to join my client's expanding peripatetic team. In this role, you will be required to travel across the UK, driving a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to client sites to deliver high-quality health surveillance services. This is a varied and rewarding role that plays a vital part in ensuring the health and well-being of employees across a range of industries.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to expand their skills and experience in a supportive environment, where you'll be given a 3-week Training and Induction Programme with ongoing mentoring and support from the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct health surveillance screenings, including audiometry, lung function testing, and baseline measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, and urinalysis.
• Accurately record all medical information in occupational health records and ensure it is passed to the relevant clinical staff.
• Maintain and ensure all equipment is clean, serviceable, and fit for purpose.
• Support health promotion activities and other additional tasks as required.
• Assist the wider occupational health team by gathering and recording accurate information to support clinical decision-making.
• Provide biometric data through screening procedures to enable nursing and physician staff to make informed clinical decisions regarding patient management.
• During the initial weeks of employment, the successful candidate may be required to utilise their personal vehicle or a company-provided hire car for transportation purposes. This interim measure will remain in effect until the delivery of a new company van can be facilitated.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated professional with exceptional time management skills and outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. A solid understanding of GDPR is essential, along with the capability to effectively deliver health promotion and health surveillance services.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, showcasing strong organisational skills, the capacity to prioritise tasks, and the confidence to meet tight deadlines using their own initiative. You should be approachable, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be adept at building and maintaining positive working relationships.

This role is particularly suited to individuals with experience as a Healthcare Support Worker, Emergency Care Assistant, Ambulance Technician, Ambulance Assistant, Emergency Care Technician, or Army Medic. Additionally, it presents a great opportunity for graduates with a degree in Sports Science who are seeking their first role in a healthcare setting, provided you have experience in performing baseline measurements.

A valid manual UK driving licence is a mandatory requirement for this position. Applicants must have held a driving licence for a minimum of 12 months and be at least 21 years of age to be eligible for consideration.

Hours

This is a full-time role where the successful applicant will work 37.5 hours per week, usually between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

Location

We are looking for someone located in Cambridge for this role. Regional travel with occasional nationwide.

Salary

We offer a competitive salary for this role is between £25,000K and £27,000K depending on experience and qualifications.
