Job summary

Places for People in the Leeds area is hiring an Occupational Health Technician to deliver surveillance, screening and testing across our sites. You will work closely with the Senior Occupational Health Nurse and People teams to support colleague wellbeing through routine health assessments and monitoring.

This mobile role requires travel to group locations to deliver clinics. Experience in audiometry and spirometry is preferred, and you will maintain confidential records while contributing to

More about your role

As an Occupational Health Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering occupational health surveillance, screening and testing programmes across Places for People. Working closely with the Senior Occupational Health Nurse, operational managers and People teams, you'll support the health and wellbeing of colleagues through routine health assessments and monitoring activities.

You'll undertake health surveillance activities including audiometry, spirometry, vision testing and other health assessments, ensuring accurate records are maintained and confidential information is handled appropriately.

You'll also identify outcomes requiring further assessment, support wellbeing initiatives and health promotion campaigns, and contribute to service improvements across PFP Medical.

This is a mobile role and will require travel to Group locations to deliver occupational health clinics and assessments.

Essential Criteria
  • Experience working within occupational health, healthcare, health surveillance or another health-related environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload or workload with competing priorities.
  • Experience engaging with a range of stakeholders, including managers, colleagues, healthcare professionals or operational teams.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential health or employee information in line with data protection requirements.

You can confidently manage your own workload, prioritise tasks effectively and work independently while remaining part of a wider team. You'll be comfortable building positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders and adapting your approach to suit different audiences.

You understand the importance of confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive information and take pride in delivering a high-quality service. Experience of audiometry and spirometry testing would be advantageous, as would experience working within construction, housing, maintenance, facilities management or other operational environments.
