Job summary

Optima Health is recruiting an Occupational Health Screening Nurse for a permanent role based at Royal Surrey County Hospital with ad hoc travel. The role includes delivering immunisations, health surveillance, and vaccines, with a strong emphasis on ongoing professional development and CPD.

The company supports additional training and leadership opportunities. The position is full-time, 37.5 hours weekly, onsite 5 days a week, with occasional travel to surrounding sites.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with experience delivering immunisations and vaccinations.
• Current NMC Registration.
• Desirable: Spirometry, Audiometry and Drivers Medicals (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of Occupational Health services with a focus on immunisations and vaccinations.
• Advise clients on immunisation services and improvements.
• Conduct immunisation health assessments and surveillance relating to work health risks.
• Promote employee health and wellbeing across the business.
• Provide health education to maximise participation in wellness activities.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team and share knowledge with peers.
• Maintain NMC registration and CPD to meet professional standards.

Role Summary

We are looking for an Occupational Health Screening Nurse to join the Optima team. This is a varied role, carrying out a mixture of immunisations, health surveillance and administering vaccines. In return, we offer an industry-leading training and development program to help you get where you want to go in Occupational Health. If you want to carry out additional training and qualifications or take on a leadership and management responsibility, then we will help support you.

Locations: Full time onsite at RSCH, GU2 7XX. 1 day per month at GU22 7HS or Walton KT12 3LD. Ad hoc cover at UOS, SO17 1BJ.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Delivering a range of Occupational Health services and clinics for our client, with a focus on immunisations and vaccinations.
• Advise our clients on current immunisation services and recommendations for improvement.
• Conducting immunisation health assessments and surveillance, relating to potential exposure to health risks at work.
• Promoting employee health and wellbeing for our clients and across the wider business.
• Giving health education on relevant issues, promoting a healthy lifestyle to all employees in order to maximise participation in activities at work and elsewhere.
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team by sharing knowledge, supporting and challenging your peers.
• Maintaining registration and Continuous Professional Development by meeting or exceeding standards set by the NMC.

Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role

• Registered General Nurse with previous experience of delivering immunisations and vaccinations.
• Current NMC Registration
• Desirable: Experience with Spirometry, Audiometry and Drivers Medicals - this is not essential as we can provide training.
