Job summary

A regional healthcare organization in Hull is seeking a Band 5 Occupational Health Nurse to join their multi-disciplinary team. The role involves promoting health and wellbeing, supporting employees in various aspects of Occupational Health Nursing. The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with relevant Occupational Health qualifications and experience, demonstrating excellent communication and IT skills. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Occupational Health Nurse to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team supporting the health and wellbeing of employees working within City Health Care Partnership CIC and its subsidiary companies. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, registered nurse who is enthusiastic, adaptable and keen to learn.

Main duties of the job

We would be delighted to hear from you if you have a keen interest in public health, promoting healthy work environment and a desire to work in Occupational Health Nursing. The successful applicant will have a varied role and will be involved in all aspects of Occupational Health Nursing including infectious disease outbreak support. You will be supported and encouraged to develop in your role maintaining continuous professional development. The ideal candidate will be innovative, confident, have excellent communication skills, proficient IT skills and a flexible pro-active approach to be able to manage a varied and demanding workload. Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse
  • Occupational Health Degree/Diploma SCPHN part 3 of NMC Register or willingness to work towards
  • Health Promotion Qualification
Knowledge
  • Evidence of up to date knowledge base of professional and specialist issues
  • Quality issues, understanding of clinical governance, audit and clinical effectiveness and their application to occupational health
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of professional accountability in the scope of professional practice
  • Ongoing training and development in professional practice
  • Knowledge of the NHS and current health and social care landscape
  • Knowledge and understanding of occupational diseases and ill health arising from the working environment
Experience
  • Able to plan care utilising holistic assessments to staff and customers
  • Experience in occupational health nursing
  • Current immunisation training
  • Experience of undertaking audit or nurse research
  • Contributing to SEQOSH accreditation
