Purosearch Ltd is seeking an Occupational Health Advisor to provide professional OH services from Renfrew. The role is full-time with hybrid working and hours between 8am and 6pm. A salary of £39,000–£45,000 is offered, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will conduct case management, health surveillance, and fitness-for-work assessments, while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with NMC standards and data protection. This is a patient-focused, governance-driven OH practice.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Part 1) with a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health at Degree/Diploma level.
• Experience in Occupational Health case management and providing professional OH advice.
• Strong written and verbal communication, excellent organisation, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage workload independently and seek clinical support when needed.
• Confident IT skills and understanding of data protection in Occupational Health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive OH case management and advise on fitness for work and attendance.
• Produce clear OH reports while complying with NMC standards and data protection.
• Undertake occupational medicals and health surveillance per legislation and company protocols.
• Assess results and provide fitness recommendations with escalation when needed.
• Provide health assessments including spirometry, audiometry, general medicals, and case management.
• Advise clients and managers on OH legislation and workplace adjustments.
• Maintain NMC registration and ongoing professional development and governance.

Provide professional, evidence-based Occupational Health services to support employee health, wellbeing, attendance, and fitness for work. The role involves delivering case management, medical assessments, health surveillance, fitness-for-role assessments, and appropriate advice to employees, managers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Occupational Health case management and provide evidence-based advice on fitness for work, attendance, and workplace health.
• Produce clear, accurate, and professional OH reports while maintaining confidentiality and complying with NMC standards and data protection requirements.
• Undertake occupational medicals and health surveillance in line with current legislation, best practice, and company protocols.
• Assess medical and surveillance results, provide appropriate fitness recommendations, and escalation of concerns where clinically necessary.
• Provide health assessments including spirometry, audiometry, general medicals, case management, and fitness‑for‑role assessments.
• Advise clients and managers on relevant Occupational Health legislation, workplace adjustments, and best practice.
• Maintain professional NMC registration, clinical competence, continuing professional development, and appropriate clinical governance.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Part 1) with a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health at Degree/Diploma level.
• Previous experience in Occupational Health case management and providing professional OH advice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organisation, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage workload effectively, work independently, recognise professional limitations, and seek appropriate clinical support.
• Confident IT skills and a strong understanding of confidentiality, information governance, and data protection within Occupational Health.
