Job description

This is a varied role working as a peripatetic Occupational Health Advisor (OHA). This position is part of the occupational health (OH) team responsible for delivering comprehensive occupational health services to all clients. The role is primarily home-based, covering the advertised location, but requires flexibility to travel nationally for clinics and on-site appointments, with occasional overnight stays as per business needs.

Role & Responsibilities

A typical day involves attending various clinics or on-site appointments as directed by our Occupational Health Schedulers. The role includes:

• Remote case management
• Fit to work medicals
• Health surveillance
• Health promotion
• Vaccination programmes
• Wellbeing services
• Training services

Skills & Experience Required

• Current Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification
• Occupational Health qualification, ideally recorded on part 3 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council register (not essential)
• HAV’s Tier 3 qualification or willingness to undertake training for further qualification
• Confident working independently with a proactive, can-do attitude and resilience
• Good communication skills at all levels
• Ability to stay motivated in challenging environments
• Computer literate with good keyboard skills

• Attend relevant internal and external training
• Take responsibility for personal development and share learning with the team
• Discuss development needs with the Line Manager to improve performance
• Willing to pursue further qualifications as required by legislation
