Job description

Salary: Circa £48,000 or hourly rate equivalent depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team, after an offer is made.

The opportunity:

We are expanding our Occupational Health (OH) team and seeking a temporary Occupational Health Advisor for up to 6 months, with the possibility of part-time work. The role requires a minimum of 3 days per week onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) to join our Occupational Health & Wellbeing (OH&W) Team.

The OH&W Team is dedicated to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of all MBDA employees, providing comprehensive internal and external services.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to developing and delivering a high-quality OH service, offering specialist knowledge responsive to MBDA UK’s evolving needs. You will ensure service delivery aligns with best practices, policies, and legal requirements.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • A proactive, motivated individual passionate about occupational health, committed to delivering excellent physical and mental wellbeing services.
  • Responsibilities include health screening, surveillance, case management, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships across HR, Safety, and other business functions, providing expert guidance in OH.
  • Manage projects and work streams effectively, demonstrating excellent organisational and IT skills.
  • Support the development of OH technicians and team members.
  • Provide clinical advice to support wellbeing strategies, including initiatives and manager training.
  • Deliver wellness assessments and health advice to executives and colleagues.
  • Lead projects and improve service delivery.
  • Prepare case management reports, conduct health surveillance activities, and manage time effectively.

What you need:

  • Essential: NMC RN Part 1 registration
  • Essential: Extensive experience in delivering occupational health services
  • Desirable: RN Part 3 – SCPHN (OH) registration

Experience in pre-placement assessments, health surveillance, case management, lifestyle screening, triage, and query response is required. You should have solid clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and be an NMC registered Nurse with occupational health experience. A current SCPHN qualification is preferred, along with evidence of career progression and complex case management expertise. Strong interpersonal skills such as motivation, negotiation, relationship-building, and influencing are essential.
