Milton Keynes College Prison Services Team at HMP Isle of Wight, are seeking innovative teachers to deliver to a diverse group of learners, helping to build their confidence, develop their skills and achieve within a college environment. Candidates must be interested in variable hours, on an ad-hoc basis, who are keen to explore teaching opportunities within Prison Education. We are looking for candidates that can teach any of the following subjects, English, Maths, Painting and Decorating, IT, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Art, Business and Mentoring. Most courses are delivered to level 2 through and accredited by awarding bodies such as City & Guilds, SFEDI, NCFE. Class sizes are usually no larger than 12 and new teachers are supported by a colleague in the initial months. Shadowing opportunities are provided before starting.

For nearly 30 years, we have worked with offenders in both custody, the wider community and currently work with 19 prisons across England; this includes 13 prisons, which make up the Long Term High Security Estate, and 6 category B, C & D men’s prisons.
