Job summary

Aspire People invites applications for an EYFS SEN Teacher in Twickenham, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The role is full-time with ASAP start, offering M-Scale pay depending on experience.

You will lead an Early Years class in a specialist SEN setting, delivering a play-based, highly personalised curriculum to children with complex needs, supported by a team of TAs and therapists. Strong Safeguarding practice is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
• Experience teaching in an Early Years or SEN setting (essential).
• Knowledge and understanding of EYFS framework and SEND Code of Practice.
• Experience working with children with complex needs (desirable).
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all pupils.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver an engaging, play-based EYFS curriculum tailored to pupils' individual needs and EHCPs.
• Carry out ongoing assessment and observation to track progress and inform next steps.
• Create a safe, stimulating and structured learning environment suited to young learners with SEN.
• Work closely with TAs, therapists and other professionals as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and carers.
• Contribute to EHCP reviews and pupil progress reporting.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with school and statutory requirements.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school-specific policies at all times.
