Job summary

GSL Education is seeking an Early Years Practitioner to join a welcoming setting in Chesterfield, supporting young children as they begin learning through play.

You will assist with daily routines, help develop communication and social skills, observe progress and share updates with colleagues, while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment and safeguarding at all times.

This long-term/temporary role offers both full-time and part-time options and requires DBS safety checks to be in place.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Early Years qualification or substantial experience with young children.
• Experience in an early years, nursery or primary setting is desirable.
• Caring, patient and attentive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of child development and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning and development through play-based activities.
• Help children develop communication, social and early learning skills.
• Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes and personal care.
• Prepare and support age-appropriate activities.
• Observe children's progress and share updates with colleagues.
• Maintain a clean, safe learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and support wellbeing.
