Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking a compassionate Nurture Teacher in Uxbridge to support pupils with SEMH, SEND and challenging behaviour. The role focuses on delivering engaging lessons and creating a nurturing environment across KS3/KS4, working with a specialist setting in UB10 area.

You will collaborate with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and other professionals to monitor progress and support individual education plans. An Enhanced DBS and willingness to obtain one are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH, SEND and/or challenging behaviour.
• KS3/KS4 teaching experience or ability to cover across these key stages.
• Excellent behaviour management and ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and accessible lessons to pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
• Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
• Support pupils with challenging behaviour or barriers to learning.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual academic, emotional and social needs.
• Develop strong relationships to improve engagement and attendance.
• Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff, SENCOs and other professionals.
• Support pupils' confidence, resilience and emotional regulation.
• Monitor progress and contribute to individual support plans.
