Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Nursing Clinical Leader for Older Peoples Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). The role requires leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver a rapid, safe, and efficient patient pathway from ambulance intake to assessment and treatment.

The post involves working within a developing network, leading quality improvements, and ensuring safe medicines management in line with policy. Interview date is provided as part of recruitment.

Qualifications

• Registration on Part 1, or Part 12 of the NMC Register (RGN/RN Adult) or equivalent.
• Teaching Qualification, SLIP/Mentorship.
• Deteriorating Adults Course.
• HAPE or Equivalent.
• ALS.
• Leadership and Management qualification.
• Qualification in the specialty.
• Demonstrable post-registration experience at senior level.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop OPSSDEC to meet service needs and promote an SDEC first approach for referrals to the acute take.
• Lead and manage the development and provision of a high-quality nursing service and environment in SDEC.
• Provide expert nursing knowledge and guidance to enable evidence-based, patient-centered care pathways.
• Ensure resources are managed to deliver a high-quality service and oversee day-to-day operations with the OPAU Co-Ordinator.
• Collaborate with OPS Consultants, ACPs, Matrons and managers to maintain a high quality, cost-effective, patient-focused service.
