Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Nursing Care Manager for Eastbourne Gardens Care Home in Eastbourne to lead the nursing team and ensure delivery of high-quality care to residents. • Hold a Registered Nurse qualification.
• Have 2 to 3 years of post-qualification experience, with evidence of ongoing professional development in elderly care.
• Possess previous management experience and a comprehensive understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to manage interpersonal relationships, including effective influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the resident assessment process and ensure the plan of care is accurate and person-centred.
• Communicate resident information using appropriate methods to the care staff to ensure delivery of a person-centred approach.
• Oversee the Nursing Team, organising meetings, agendas, attendance, outcomes, actions and minutes.
• Supervise and develop team members via regular supervision, one-to-ones and yearly reviews, supporting individual development plans.
• Ensure compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and maintain high-quality elderly care.

Job description

Your role as a Nursing Care Manager will be to ensure the delivery of effective nursing care to residents in a nursing home and to directly manage the Registered General Nurses on your team. Other responsibilities will include:

• Co-ordinate the resident assessment process, ensuring that the plan of care is accurate and reflected in the care needs summary, the resident is involved in identifying needs and preferences, and integration of all information into a person-centred care plan
• Ensure that all relevant information in respect of each resident is communicated using the most appropriate method, e.g. APB, Handover, MCM, to the proper members of staff to achieve delivery of a person-centred approach
• Overall responsibility for the management of the Nursing Team, introducing effective mechanisms for communication, such as team meetings, communication boards, etc. Arranging such meetings, organising agendas, attendance, outcomes, actions, minutes
• Support, guide and develop their team members by carrying out regular supervisions/one-to-ones and yearly reviews and support individual performance management plans for identified staff.
