Burlington Primary Care is recruiting a Nursing Associate on a substantive basis, can be full or part-time. The post involves running own clinics, chronic disease reviews, immunisations, health checks and cervical screening within a structured supervision framework.

Applicants must hold NMC registration as a Nursing Associate and be competent in venepuncture, ECGs, BP monitoring and basic clinical assessment, with cervical screening and immunisation training in progress if not yet completed.

Qualifications

• FdSc Nursing Associate or equivalent.
• Competent in venepuncture, ECGs, BP monitoring and basic clinical assessment.
• Cervical screening competency held or training actively underway.
• Adult and child immunisation competency held or training actively underway.

Responsibilities

• Run own appointment clinics within scope of practice, including chronic disease reviews for diabetes, hypertension, COPD and asthma.
• Deliver NHS Health Checks independently.
• Carry out cervical screening (smear taking), with competency held or training underway.
• Administer childhood and adult immunisations in supervised clinics and seasonal programmes under a PGD or supervising clinician.
• Perform venepuncture, ECGs, BP monitoring, urinalysis and basic wound care.
• Support health promotion and lifestyle advice, including brief interventions and signposting.
• Contribute to recall and care planning for patients with long-term conditions.
• Maintain accurate, timely records on the EMIS clinical system.
• Work across the MDT, contributing to team meetings and quality improvement.
