Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Nursing Associate to join the Paediatric Ward at Wexham Park Hospital. You will deliver compassionate, patient‑centred care under supervision, supporting children and their families in a busy paediatric setting.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on safety, communication, and professional development, and you will participate in induction and ongoing training to progress your career in paediatric care.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non‑verbal) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code.
• Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation.

Main duties of the job

• Be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on promoting health and independence.


• Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values.

• Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.


• Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction of a registered nurse or other registered care professional's dependent on setting.


• Have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual's defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.


• The post holder will demonstrate a level of underpinning knowledge to practice and educated to foundation degree level.


• The post holder will support the registered nurses, medical staff, and allied health professionals within the clinical environment.


• The role is flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the care setting, and it is expected that the responsibilities will be developed and be agreed as services evolve.

Essential

• Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development.
