University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Nursing Associate to support pre-operative assessment and health optimisation. The role uses digital tools to identify patients needing optimisation before planned surgery and to triage patients to suitable sites.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, contact patients to gather information, and deliver patient-centred care in line with national perioperative guidelines. NMC registration is required.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent with Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English.
• Foundation degree in nursing associate practice.
• End Point Assessment completion for apprentices.
• NMC registration as Nursing Associate.

Responsabilités

• Identify patients needing optimisation before planned surgery.
• Identify patients suitable for triage to a high-volume, low-complexity site.
• Contact patients to gather information and signpost services.
• Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centred care and be accountable for own practice.
• Plan and prioritise own workload and implement evidence-based care.
• Coordinate and deliver direct care for a designated group of patients, including care planning and patient review.
• Promote health, prevent ill health, monitor care, and contribute to integrated care.
