Job summary

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Nursing Associate to join a community nursing team serving Crawley and surrounding villages. You will provide a mix of general and specialist care, work at your registered level, and be supported by a Registered Nurse team.

You will also supervise trainees and HCAs while contributing to planning, delivering and monitoring patient care in the community. The role requires completion of Nursing Associate training and NMC registration.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Nursing Associate training and be registered with the NMC.
• Experience delivering care in a community setting is desirable but not required as training is provided within the role.
• Able to work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, AHPs and other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care within your proven competency at your registered level.
• Be supported by the Registered Nursing Team and supervised by a registered nurse band 5 or above.
• Contribute to planning, implementation and monitoring of patient care as part of the Community Nursing Team.
• Supervise and teach trainee or newly qualified Nursing Associates and Health Care Assistants.
• Maintain a kind, caring and professional attitude toward patients, relatives and colleagues, respecting dignity and confidentiality.
• Recognise changes in a patient’s condition and escalate to a Registered Nurse or GP when appropriate.
• Provide health and care information to patients, carers and family as appropriate.
• Maintain clear, concise and legible documentation in line with NMC and Trust policies.
• Adhere to Medicines Management Policy for storing, administering, recording and disposal of medicines.

A vacancy has arisen for a Nursing Associate to join a community nursing team in Crawley and surrounding villages. The Nursing Associate will provide a mixture of general and specific care to a group of patients and will be proficient and competent to work at their registered level. They will work alongside Registered Nurses and Allied Health Professionals. The post holder will have completed their Nursing Associate training and be registered with the NMC. The Nursing Associate works in partnership with the primary health care team, social services, private and voluntary sector, addressing health promotion priorities both locally and nationally. Please note: Due to recent changes in UK immigration and visa rules, this role is unlikely to be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. • Maintain clear concise and legible documentation adhering to standards in accordance with NMC and Trust policies.
