Job summary

Talent-ID Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Level 3 Qualified Nursery Unit Manager to lead a designated nursery unit and support the Nursery Manager. You will mentor staff, ensure high standards of care and implement effective safeguarding and EYFS practices.

You will work closely with the Nursery Manager and leadership team to maintain a warm, stimulating environment, plan developmentally appropriate activities and oversee daily operations.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare or equivalent.
• Experience leading a room, unit or team, with progression to leadership.
• Strong understanding of EYFS and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your designated nursery unit.
• Lead, motivate and support Early Years Practitioners and support staff.
• Allocate responsibilities and maintain high standards of practice.
• Assist Nursery Manager with nursery operations.
• Mentor junior staff and new team members.
• Deliver high-quality care, learning and development in line with EYFS.
• Plan engaging activities based on children's needs and interests.
• Monitor development, observations, assessments and next steps.
• Promote independence, communication and social development.
• Support children with SEND and work with families and professionals.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are understood and followed.
• Maintain hygiene, health and safety and accurate records.
