Job summary

Hedgehog Recruitment seeks a Nursery Third in charge for our new nursery and pre-school. The role involves daily managerial duties, supporting staff to meet policies and safeguarding standards, and leading the preschool team to plan safe, creative learning under EYFS guidelines.

The ideal candidate will hold an Early Years Level 3+ qualification, have EYFS experience, and demonstrated leadership and communication skills. Salary negotiable with a supportive management team.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant Early Years qualification equivalent to Level 3 or above.
• Experience of working with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Ability to mange a team, previous leadership and management experience would be ideal.
• Ability to set, demonstrate and promote good practice in line with the ethos of the nursery.
• Experience of having kept written records of children’s achievements including observations.
• Excellent communications skills.

Responsibilities

• To lead the planning of safe, creative and appropriate opportunities according to children’s needs and interests to fulfil the requirements of the EYFS.
• To develop and maintain good relationships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate meeting the needs of each child, including organising meetings to update and involve parent/carers in their child’s learning.
• Working creatively with children within the EY framework, in order to provide an enabling learning environment for all children.
• Ensuring all children have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.

We are currently looking for a Nursery Third in charge in our lovely little NEW nursery and pre-school.

Main duties and responsibilities of the Third in charge:

Hours

We promote a work life balance working 4 or 5 days per week (38hours per week, we are open 8am - 6pm.
