Job summary

MiChild Group's Sunbeams Nursery in Atherton is seeking a caring Nursery SENDCo to support children with additional needs. The role requires strong EYFS knowledge and experience with 0–5s, with a passionate commitment to inclusive early years practice.

Hours start at 25 per week, rising to 40 depending on requirements, with shifts 8:00–17:30, Monday to Friday. You will lead SEND provision, work with parents, train staff, and collaborate with external professionals to ensure child-centred support.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND within an Early Years or nursery setting.
• Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding and inclusive practice.
• Warm, collaborative communication with staff, children and families.
• Hands-on in a nursery environment, celebrating milestones from baby room to preschool.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEND provision across the nursery, ensuring practice meets the SEND Code of Practice.
• Identify children's needs early and implement meaningful, child-centred support plans.
• Promote an inclusive, play-based learning environment reflecting the EYFS framework.
• Work in partnership with parents and carers, maintaining positive relationships and clear communication.
• Support and train the nursery team—including Early Years Practitioners and Level 3 Educators.
• Build strong links with external professionals to provide joined-up support for families.
