Job summary

MiChild Group is seeking an Early Years SENDCo for Sunbeams Nursery in Atherton, UK. The role focuses on leading SEND provision across the nursery, coordinating support plans and ensuring EYFS-aligned, inclusive practice for children aged 0–5.

The successful candidate will collaborate with parents, train staff, and work with external professionals to provide holistic support, within a warm, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEND within an Early Years or nursery setting.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and inclusive practice.
• Warm, collaborative communication skills with staff, children and families.
• Hands-on nursery experience from baby room to preschool.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the SEND provision across the nursery, ensuring practice meets SEND Code of Practice.
• Identify children’s needs early and implement meaningful, child-centred support plans.
• Promote an inclusive, play-based learning environment aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Work in partnership with parents and carers, maintaining positive relationships and clear communication.
• Support and train the nursery team—including Early Years Practitioners and Level 3 Educators.
• Build links with external professionals to provide joined-up support for families.
