Job summary

MiChild Group is seeking a caring, proactive Nursery SENDCo to support children with additional needs at Sunbeams Nursery in Atherton. The role emphasizes strong EYFS knowledge and experience with children aged 0–5 in an inclusive setting.

The SENDCo will lead SEND provision, work with parents, and train staff, while collaborating with external professionals to provide joined-up support for families.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEND in an Early Years or nursery setting.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and inclusive practice.
• Warm, collaborative communication with staff, children and families.
• Hands-on nursery environment; celebrates milestones from baby room to preschool.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the SEND provision across the nursery, ensuring practices meet SEND Code of Practice.
• Identify children’s needs early and implement meaningful, child-centred support plans.
• Promote an inclusive, play-based learning environment reflecting the EYFS framework.
• Work in partnership with parents and carers with clear communication.
• Support and train the nursery team (Early Years Practitioners, Level 3 Educators, room leaders).
• Build strong links with external professionals for joined-up family support.
